NYSE MKT: a fully integrated trading venue
NYSE MKT operates a next-generation market model and technology platform on the iconic NYSE Trading Floor. Both venues – NYSE and NYSE MKT have similar oversight requirements, market surveillance and DMM obligations. We are changing the name to reinforce the fact that NYSE MKT is a fully integrated trading venue within the NYSE Euronext community. This change more closely aligns our listed companies and other issuers with our position as the largest B2B network in the world that provides access to the deepest and most diverse pool of liquidity in the world. Any place the NYSE Amex name is used, in regards to our equity business, will now be changed to NYSE MKT.
Companies that list on NYSE MKT gain access to the NYSE Euronext’s leading brand-visibility and custom issuers services such as NYSE Connect, daily reports and access to the various conferences and webinars held with partners such as Corporate Board Member.
Consistent support for small companies
NYSE Euronext has consistently supported small companies. The firm was an early advocate of the recently passed Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act (JOBS Act), which is designed to enable young, innovative companies to access the capital they need to grow and create jobs.
In addition, NYSE Euronext launched the NYSE Big StartUp, a nationwide jobs-growth initiative designed to connect young companies and entrepreneurs with corporate America. The program, launched in collaboration with Accion, Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) and The Startup America Partnership, calls on the nation’s corporate community to lend support, experience and resources to startups and small companies to improve procurement, networking, business development, training, marketing and information sharing.
NYSE Euronext believes exchanges have a responsibility to help smaller growth companies flourish by providing them with access to capital, and the NYSE MKT is well-positioned to support listed companies in the capital markets. Good public policy, such as the JOBS Act and the NYSE Big Startup, ensures that emerging growth businesses have access to the capital they need to expand and thrive.
